The open road. The American highway. A cliche symbol of freedom and liberation. An idyllic byproduct of the American Dream. Or just another slab of asphalt connecting you from A to B.

The question of staying put vs. leaving is an idea music and other art forms constantly hark back to and usually romanticize.

Through a combination of photography and text, this zine deconstructs the idea that the highway is just another hyper-masculine, runaway dream.
